With year-round tours and over 60 unique itineraries from 3 to 30 days in length, we offer the widest range of safari holidays you’ll find anywhere and whatever you choose, we guarantee you the experience of a lifetime!

AVS tours explore deep into the designated national parks, savannah grasslands, swamps, thick rainforests and wilderness areas that are often difficult, if not impossible to reach on your own by public transport. With your tour guide to show you the way and your own private transportation, we are virtually self-sufficient while on the road and diversions off the beaten path are not just a dream, but a reality!

Choose an Original camping tour for outdoor adventure or for value for money, a Budget, or Mid-range accommodation. For those that like their creature comforts, check out our Luxury Lodging accommodations in Uganda, Kenya and Rwanda, staying in comfortable 3 and 5 star hotels. Whatever tour type you choose, all your accommodation and transport is included.

Free time and choice are a key part of our style of travel. In addition to the many included highlights and activities, there are also lots of optional activities for you to choose from during your trip. We keep these optional so you have the flexibility to do the things you want to and leave out the things you don’t, per taste and budget.

We are insured with AMREF Flying Doctors. This means that we have access to medical evacuation services on a 24-Hour service all year around. The pick-up service is staffed by an experienced ICU nurse, and an ICU doctor always on duty or on call even from the most remote areas and extra staff added if need be. In the event of a serious injury, these doctors always respond to our emergency calls and either arrange air-medical evacuation for the patient(s) or recommend the best possible alternative action or refer the patient to the nearest appropriate treatment centre.

All our clients are entered in the AMREF database on confirmation of a trip with us. It is upon AMREF to decide whether the patient’s condition and location represent a critical medical situation which warrants air evacuation to Nairobi for the best treatment. AMREF retains the right to use its judgement in all cases particularly in circumstances involving the safety of people and aircraft. They dully provide air and ground ambulance services to a referral hospital.

This insurance does not cover inpatient medical costs; out of hospital treatment or evacuation requested for mild lesions, simple injuries like sprains, or simple fractures and mild illnesses which can be treated locally; evacuation for an acute illness or injury that a client was being treated for prior to the trip; evacuation of a client who is engaged in a professional activity or any sport considered as being of a dangerous nature;

evacuation for injuries sustained as a result of war, political violence or civil unrest; search / rescue operations if a client is lost in a remote area; evacuation for self-inflicted injuries sustained whilst a client is under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs; injuries sustained whilst engaging in a criminal or unlawful act; the client’s primary admitting diagnosis is an inpatient psychiatric disorder; evacuation of a client who is on an organ transplant list prior to enrolment; and conditions arising directly or indirectly from chemical or biological contamination.

Adventure Vacation Safaris also took up a public liability insurance plan with Jubilee Insurance in Uganda. This insurance protects against claims of personal injury or property damage that a third party suffers (or claims to have suffered) as a result of our business activities. So basically, we are covered for any legal defence claims that may arise if a client is injured or their property is damaged while we are providing them a service.

All our safari vehicles are comprehensively insured with National Insurance Company (NIC) and clients can easily verify this by checking for the comprehensive and third-party insurance certificates in one of the windows of each vehicle.

We recommend you take out insurance as soon as your booking is confirmed. You MUST be covered by insurance that includes adequate coverage for baggage, medical expenses and the cost of repatriation should you become too ill to continue to travel. In addition to this, we strongly recommend that you include coverage for tour cancellation if you must cancel your reservation prior to departure because of serious illness or injury to yourself, a member of your immediate family or traveling companions.
